The term "architectural," on a macro level, brings to mind some of civilization’s greatest structural achievements. But when applied to mosaic work, it speaks of a very different intrinsic beauty. Architectural mosaic artistry brings to mind images of ornate stone tapestries and murals, geometrical tessellations resembling a throw rug, Pompeiian fine art set into walls, oceanic creatures and mythical caricatures of the famous Corinthian spas, as well as various complex Parchin Kari or Pietre Dure religious works. A truly architectural mosaic is that which is integrated into, and is a natural part of the floors, walls and ceilings of a building; it is that which augments the macro works as the very décor and fabric of architectural design.

There is an ever increasing appreciation and desire to house cultured and classic art in the personal spaces of our homes. It has been an American tradition in the construction process, to sacrifice the presence of these refreshing investments for the sake of more square footage. As of late, the trend is beginning to blow in the direction of deeper roots tapping into our European heritage.
